We were on our honeymoon in the South Island of New Zealand, and we came across a lonely beach at the Waipapa Point near the Southern tip of South Island. We saw hundreds and hundreds of sea lions, but not a single human being was in sight. I was terribly frightened, but somehow got myself to get to within a few feet closer to them. Surprisingly, they completely ignored us and went about their afternoon routines. Honestly, I have never again felt more excited and frightened at the same time.
